You can sell while you’re sleeping! I know you’re probably thinking, “What?! Did I read that correctly?”
Yes, that’s correct! You don’t have to do a double take because you really can sell while you’re sleeping- but that’s only if you do it strategically.
Here’s how:
1. Blog Posts
As I had mentioned in this post, blogging is NOT dead! If anything, it actually boosts your online presence and drives more traffic to your site. It is vital to keep your website updated so that it will show up in search engine results. Since you own your website, this is one of the best ways to build a relationship with your audience! Did you know that I’ve only published ONE blog post prior to this one and my page views have significantly increased? With the help of SEO, you are attracting more readers to your site!
2. Social Media
Here’s the thing, you don’t need to be on every social media platform. Pick 1-2 platforms where your ideal clients are hanging out and post content that they actually want to see. I connect with most of my clients on Facebook and Instagram. I actively engage in Facebook groups and people that I have never interacted with end up messaging me because of a comment I left several weeks prior. This has happened on more than one occasion where someone I have never interacted with saw that I left a meaningful comment and they ended up booking a call with me and converting into a client!
If you’re on Instagram, make sure you’re posting your stories onto your highlights. This is where you’re showcasing your most valuable content. People love watching videos! Your stories disappear after 24 hours but your highlights don’t go away. This is why it’s important to add valuable content to your highlights. This is the prime real estate to sell while you’re sleeping!
3. Pinterest
When I first started using Pinterest many moons ago, I was basically just using it to search for recipes and plan my wedding. What’s amazing about it is that you can do so much more with it because it’s not a social media platform, it’s actually a visual search engine! Unlike Facebook and Instagram, your posts have a much longer lifespan and are more likely to show up during a search. By using the right keywords and images, you are able to drive more traffic to your website! I just started using Pinterest for my business and already seeing an increase of referrals. You can use Tailwind to schedule your pins ahead of time so you’re not stressing about what to manually post. Using a scheduler for Pinterest and all of your social media platforms is crucial to sell why you’re sleeping. Let the scheduler do the work for you so you can catch some extra sleep!
4. LinkedIn
I’ve had a LinkedIn profile and had it just sit for years because I thought it was just a site to post my resume and hope that someone would magically land upon my profile and offer me a job opportunity. How wrong was I?! I didn’t know it was a platform where I could network and interact with other people that could potentially turn into leads! The best part is that I repurpose content that I already post on my social media accounts and post it onto LinkedIn using hashtags that people often search for. Of course, I do engage with others but LinkedIn is the place to be if you want to showcase your professional profile and display your knowledge by posting articles (or repurposed content).
5. Email List
Email marketing is another thing you need to be doing because just like your website, this is something you actually own! I know by now you’re probably thinking that there are just WAY too many things you need to be doing to advertise your business but it doesn’t have to be that difficult! This is why it is so important to repurpose your content! It is very unlikely that someone might be following you on every single platform that you’re on so go ahead and post the same content in your email! Sure, you might have to tweak a few things to make it go with your email platform but you are literally saving hours of work AND you’re also building a relationship with your audience by getting into their inbox.
Phew! I know that we went over a lot but like I said, this doesn’t have to be as hard as it sounds!
Repurposing your content and using scheduling apps can be major life savers! If you’re more of a pen and paper person, I recommend the Clever Fox Planner* to help hold yourself accountable. It will take some time to have a system in place but once you have it down then you’ll be so grateful that you’ll be able to get more rest and sell while you’re sleeping! And when you’re running a business, there’s nothing better than opening an inbox full of leads!
